Paul & Nann, Another stay here as enjoyable as the last. With the excellent kitchen accommodations we were able to easily cook an "almost gourmet" dinner for our friends who drove down from St. Petersburg. The beer & wine were terrific! Paul, This is our second visit to Siesta Key, but our first at Sunset Royale Condo #408. You have a magnificent condo in a perfect location and it has provided us with special memories for our 25th wedding anniversary. Your condo has everything you need to make a perfect vacation. Greg and I are so glad we found your vacation home on the Internet. However--in person it looks and feels so much better! I wish you could send a little music through! Your sound system...inside, outside, bedside, bathroom "side" is fantastic. As soon as you put on your jazz CD ... I felt I was on vacation. Greg loved it too. Although our time was short, we made the most of it. We were even able to host a dinner for local  friends here! As a bonus, we also enjoyed the sand castle competition, St. Armand's Art Festival and the volleyball tournament. The beach~~~and its sand is incredible. We look forward to coming back. You are a natural at making guests feel special in your homes. They are both lovely and make you feel that you area on vacation! Thank you Sincerely,

To Paul & Nann, It's one thing to drive by the area, but quite a different story to  stay here. We were totally spent and burned out, so to speak, when we arrived. Thank you Paul for meeting us and helping us acclimatize to everything quickly. It was very helpful. We spent 2 weeks in Paradise!! Paul and Nann, we have loved our stay at 408!  Siesta Key Beach is awesome!!! The best beach we have been to, no doubt! Everything that was included in the place down to the finest detail was perfect. My 2 year old kept saying, "bath-water-ocean!"-she LOVED the ocean! Our oldest, Cassie, enjoyed the laptop while we were in doors and created her own odosketch! While we were at the beach with our girls the umbrella was a lifesaver! We will be back hopefully next year! Thank you! SIESTA KEY IS AWESOME!!!

Paul & Nann, We will truly hate to say good-bye! Your attention to detail in your condo was so appreciated - it felt just like home. We enjoyed your stories, your humour and your recommendations. Rain or shine your beautiful condo made it serene! We would very much like to come again. Tomorrow it is back to Canada, to our capital Ottawa then on to Iqaluit, Nunavut - back to polar bears, walrus, seals & boating, off Hudson Bay and Baffin Island near the top of the world. Take good care of yourself, both of you!

The view of the beach was amazing and couldn't have been anymore convenient to  everything ~ our week  there has been fantastic! Paul & Nann, The week's brilliant sunshine & hot temps allowed us much quality time on the balcony. We sunbathed on it, dined on it, played dominoes on it, entertained on it and watched the sun drop below the horizon from it. And oh, that warm sunshine was such wonderful therapy for a healing foot! The hi-lights of this trip were the drum circle (again), Cafe Gabbiano and the Lippizan Stallions. Thanks for sharing your place in the sun!

Dear Paul and Nann, Alas, another wonderful stint in the penthouse at Sunset Royale will come to an end. The time is never long enough. This year's weather could not have been better. Sun and blue skies constantly with temps almost always in the 70's. The half-day of rain was fine and needed around here. The new TV is great. We enjoyed a couple of movies, DVD's, in the vintage ice box. We love the fresh markets: Amish one on Bahia Vista and the one at Philippi Creek on Wednesdays. We didn't get to Siesta Key market on Sunday. Loved the lobster bisque at Lobster Pot, ate at Sun Garden twice(lunch & breakfast both good), and revisited old stand-bys: Javier's and Patisserie. Really enjoyed the refreshing pool at the "new building". Thanks so much, Paul and Nann.

We really appreciate your putting in a request for exceptional weather for us this week! It has really been a pleasure to be here in your "penthouse" on Siesta Key. We have enjoyed daily lunches on the balcony, walking to the Village for ice cream, walking on the beach and the beautiful sunsets--what more could we ask for?!? There are many good places around to eat!! One we would recommend is a seafood restaurant on Rt. 41 called "Shucks". We happened upon it by chance and found the food to be outstanding! Address: 7253 S. Tamiami Trail. After a second stay here we really feel as if this is a second home. We already look forward to seeing you next year!

Location, location, location--that says it all!! What a great location to walk the beach or sit on the balcony & watch the Gulf. Your condo has everything you need for the beach to the kitchen. We had a wonderful time enjoying lots of great good. Highly recommend Javier's, Blu Smoke, Cafe Gabbiano, Broken Egg, The Cottage, Blase' & Columbia. All very enjoyable! We not only had the great pleasure of staying here in #408, but also stayed two nights at the Siesta Sunset Royale penthouse, another great location--handy to the beach & an easy walk to the Village. Great "beachy" feeling. Thanks Paul for everything--enjoyed meeting you & what's the chance we would have a Quad City connection!! We will definitely be back.

Paul & Nann, We were very much in need of a relaxing break when we arrived on 13th December from cold & snowy London-and we certainly got what we wanted. After a surprisingly cold start to our holiday (when we needed our winter coats and gloves from England!) within a couple of days we were on the balcony in shorts and bikini. It is such a sheltered spot, we could enjoy the sun and deep blue skies even if there was a breeze on the beach. We very much enjoyed your restaurant recommendations: the wings, ribs and steak at Blu Smoke are excellent; and the unique dishes at The Cottage were delicious. Happy Christmas and the best for 2011.

In spite of brisk weather, we had a lovely week. The sheltered balcony saved the day - warm and sunny even when the temps are in the 50's. The kitchen set-up was also much appreciated - plenty of herbs & spices, cookbooks, and gourmet-level cookware. Hope to see you next year.

The balcony is amazing--I could live out there. Dear Nann and Paul ~  Great! Our stay at Sunset Royale on Siesta Key has, once again, been JUST GREAT. Cool weather did not detract from our enjoyment of THE VIEW on brilliant sunny days it didn't look look cold. Saw dolphins a couple times this year, sampled a few new restaurants and eating places (loved the Reuben at the New York Deli on Clark next to Whole Foods). Had our annual meal at Javier's with overnight guests--they raved, as we always do too. Went to the Beachhouse on Anna Maria Is. with granddaughter and her two friends who spent three days with us. They loved the restaurant and really loved Siesta Key. All around ~ a very good our-week stay. Hope we can be back next year. Also loved Blase with the two of you.

Thank you to Paul & Nann for renting your beautiful condo to us - a wonderful "home away from home"- it was "cool" but at least no snow!! It is an unusual cold spell for Siesta Key - but even with the cool temps the sunsets were outstanding & the hospitality of Nann & Paul warmed up our time here! The wine & munchies on both decks was special and sharing our "family stories" made the experience even more special. Paul & Nann, We very much enjoyed our first stay here at Siesta Key. Your condo is fabulous and very well equipped - the balcony was definitely our favorite part! The beaches are second to none and the weather was great considering Hurricane Ida came up the Gulf half way through our stay. We found all of the restaruants on the Key that we ate at to have great food and especially enjoyed the wonderful dinner you cooked for us, as well as the great company. Hope to see you again soon!

Paul & Nann, this is our 8th year visiting beautiful Siesta Key, however, this is our 1st visit to Paul % Nann's condo. We found the condo on Paul's very informative website and took a chance on visiting Paul personally during our last visit to see if we could book this time. Paul was very kind and let us view the condo which is in an ideal spot. We have had a fantastic time during our 2 weeks here. The condo is very well equipped with everything you will need during your stay. The location is ideal for walking into the village at night for a meal. Last, but not least, the balcony allowed us to sit at night and watch the amazing sunsets. Our next visit will definitely be #408, Sunset Royale.Many thanks for your hospitality.

Dear Paul & Nann, we want to say thanks so much for providing a wonderful place to stay for our first visit to beautiful Siesta Key! Everything, from the initial conversation on the phone, to the great tips on where to eat and what to see, to all the detail poured into the condo, everything was just perfect! The condo turned out to be exactly as described on your website. We've stayed at various locations on Siesta Key over the years and this was definitely the best one. Paul & Nann, The time goes too fast here! Can't believe it's time to go home already. We enjoyed our time here as much as we did when we were here 3 years ago. Your location and magnificent Gulf view was again fantastic. The kitchen upgrade, new floor on balcony and washer/dryer within the condo are wonderful pluses. Seeing the sun every day & warm temps the first part of the week was so welcome. Got cooler then, but still a heck of a lot better than being in Wisconsin! Enjoyed the area restaurants again and found a new one--Sun Garden-- in village, has fresh delicious "natural" tasting food - very delicious. We experienced great hospitality from Paul and Nann, making us feeling like members of their family. The first place we have been to, that we did not have to bring our own wine glasses. The stereo system was nice, the kitchen had everything. We got every recommendation we needed for shopping & dining. The Jo-To has been the best dining place in town. This condo is a very relaxing place, we spent much time on the balcony and on the beach. Siesta Key and Sarasota got everything to make a stay enjoyable, anytime of the year. We got the feeling of tropical weather, sun and tropical thunder showers, too. The finest sand in the world demands us to return for sunbathing and swimming in the warm ocean.

Another wonderful time at Sunset Royale #408. We Loved the new kitchen and especially the washer and dryer. The view, of course, didn't need improvement, outstanding, as ever. We never get tired of it sunny or stormy. Enjoyed the Mote Marine Aquarium, had a wonderful time at Javier's and Miguel's. Disappointing; the new ice cream parlor in the village, oh well, I guess it's 'cuz we're from the dairy state.

Though the view is spectacular and the unit is lovely, we were disapointed to have our one week stay marred by the construction, which we not been warned of. The noise of hammers & drill disturbed our attempts to nap in the afternoon and woke us in the morning. The surprise appearance of a man just outside our front windows before 9 in the morning violated our feeling of privacy. We are leaving with a bad taste in our mouths.

Our second time here was as great or greater - than the first last year. Cold and/or rainy weather didn't dampen our good time (hey ! it was a lot warmer here than the below zero weather in Wisconsin and no snow storms!) We had plenty of sunshine and warm days, but enjoyed the cool nights for good sleeping.

All in all, enjoyed the view, the beach, some shopping, a sunset sail (Enterprise). Good food eating out (love the food at St Armand's Columbia restaurant), workouts at the Y, computers at libraries, Concordia Lutheran Church, on and on... Sarasota and Siesta Key are becoming very familiar. We hate to leave.

After adding this entry to our guest book and packing their luggage in preparation of leaving the following morning, Kevin suffered a heart attack. We rushed him to the hospital where he had a seizure and flat lined while being examined. Kevin was revived with CPR and over the next hour his heart stopped two more times and he was revived with electric shock paddles. Kevin was packed in ice by the doctors at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, had a stent installed once he was stabilized and their son, Lorne, flew over from Scotland and stayed with Sheila at the condo. A week later Kevin was released from the hospital and returned to the condo for another week of rest. The doctors cleared Kevin to fly back home after another week. Following is Kevin's entry in our guest book. Kevin is one tough individual! Some people will do anything to extend their holiday!!

Dear Paul & Nann,

I want to thank you for all your care and kindness shown to Sheila during my illness. We both really appreciate the time & energy spent seeing us through this period.

Had a wonderful time. Great sand, excellent beaches & amazing sunsets! Had a lot of great food & listened to some awesome music on 102.5 "The Bone" for those who enjoy classic rock. Had a fantastic time. The condo was perfectly situated; lots of walks on the beach, loads of swimming in the warm water; nothing like being back home in England. We had a great time exploring, golfing & going over old ground as this isn't our first visit to Sarasota. The recommendations for eating out were very useful; our favourites were Cafe Blase, Maximo's & The Lobster Pot. We'll definitely be back sometime!

Thank you for sharing your condo with us. We have enjoyed ourselves greatly. Your condo is just right and the view is fantastic. I don't believe a person on vacation could ask for a more helpful host and hostess. Myleda and I are just sitting here looking out at the beautiful beach and wondering when we might be able to return to such a great place. Once again we had a wonderful time here. The new furniture is perfect, very  comfortable, we felt at home. Even Hurricane Wilma couldn't keep us away. We look forward to our time on Siesta key. This was a great place for our honeymoon! We had a blast the entire time. We hate we are having to leave a couple days early due to hurricane Wilma. The view of the beach is wonderful! We loved the soft sand on the beach. We enjoyed our sunset views and the great condo! It's a real hidden treasure. We will be telling all our friends about the great time we had. Lots of sun, great food & fun. We will be back someday for our anniversary.

Our week at Siesta Key was delightful - The condo everything that we needed and then some! Wonderful view and perfect weather - our vacation was just what we needed - Our daughter, Melissa & son-in-law, JP stayed a couple of nights and said the "sleeper sofa" was super! We sampled many Sarasota sites:

-Mote Marine Lab - great animals, sharks, turtles

-Sarasota Jungle Gardens - a lot of fun

-Marie Selby Gardens - beautiful setting & plants

-Ringling Museum - an all day affair worth every minute

-Cars of Yesterday - incredible journey of nostalgia

-Ritz Calton - Vernona restaurant, delicious and elegant meal, followed by dancing and drinks at the Ca d' zan Bar, also in the Ritz

-Breakfast at the Broken Egg restaurant, "The Best"

-Pizza at " City Pizza" here on Siesta Key, very good

Much shop hopping and walks on the beach filled out our visit.

Thank you for the condo rental with the beautiful view of the Gulf. We recommend S.K.O.B.(Siesta Key Oyster Bar), The Broken Egg and Phillippi Creek Village Oyster Bar. If you're looknig for shells and sharks teeth Venice Beach is the place to go! This is the perfect spot if you want a relaxing vacation or a vacation full of action. And goggles are a must if you want to discover stuff under the ocean. THANKS!

Thanks so much for the rental. It was so beautiful and relaxing here. We were on our honeymoon and it made the perfect place to rent. The view was perfect. Thanks so much for the use of your condo. It was wonderful! The peace & tranquility, the picturesque scenery, the food. All were great. We so dearly needed to escape "the daily grind",.. We couldn't have picked a better location. We also took the opportunity to get engaged during our stay. We'll never forget your place. The guide you provided served us well. Our favorites on food were: The Selva Grill (on Main St), Sangria (on Main), and Jo-To's (the village). Jo To's is the best sushi we've ever had! But breakfasts' on the balcony were the best! This vacation was the best surprise I have ever had. Jeff planned the entire trip and it was surprise after surprise from the time we left home until we got here. The first night we were here, he proposed to me on the balcony! The whole trip has been wonderful- the condo, the view, the beach, and our wonderful hosts! We recommend Myakka River State Park if you want to see gators and Sharkey's (in Venice) for great food and an awesome sunset. We also like Phillippi Creek Village Oyster Bar. This was our second visit to Siesta Key, but our first stay at Paul & Nann's penthouse. It will not be our last. We're already reserved for next year. Paul & Nann are so accommodating. The penthouse is so homey & the view is totally awesome! The beach & sand of Siesta Key are just beautiful. We made it to the Broken Egg for breakfast, a must for visitors. Our favorite restaurant was Mattison's Grille on Old Stickney Point Rd. The groupler was to die for. We certainly recommend that one. Paul & Nann's main requirements were to have fun & relax. THAT WE DID! Thanks again Paul & Nann.

We have had a lovely, relaxing holiday and have enjoyed very good weather. Our recommendations are:

• For the very best burger (and you have to eat American in America_- Patrick's in Sarasota
• For the best Pina Colada- with or without very tasty hot chicken wings, and crab & shrimp cakes- Siesta Key Oyster Bar in the Village.
• For a light meal at home you can't beat frying the big juicy shrimp (or what we would call King prawns) in garlic and butter. The shrimp are very good value at Publix Supermarket.
• We like shipping and found the best value prices for "sports" wear at Marshall's, which is the shipping centre called Sarasota Pavillion, just off the 41 over the south bridge. There is also a good discount shoe shop for brand sports footwear (Adidas & Nike).
• Finally you must see the gators at Myakka Park

Ah! What a relaxing week! Even coming from a beach town, it's a bit more laid back & relaxing here and we were definitely forced to be 'bums' which always makes for a fantastic vacation. We enjoyed seeing the alligators @ Myakka State Park & also Mote Aquarium- we had never seen manatees before in person. We had to try the Amish food (Yoders) since we never see any in California. Excellent pie & lots of food!! Anyway, Thanks for all the info, your directions & advice were very helpful. Going home happy!

Thank you both for helping us make our honeymoon, (belated) wonderful. We LOVED the view! Even a fisit from Frances and almost Ivan, didn't put a damper on our time. We spent most of our time either in the  condo or on the beach, though we made it to Mote Aquarium. Also (it's a chain, so not in your book of places to eat) we ate at the Melting Pot and had a fabulous (and indulgent) meal. Hopefully we'll get the chance to visit again soon.
